About the Artist

Latino Ramp;B/reggae singer Flex began his career in 1997, when his song, a duet with Toby King titled "Como Puedo Cantar" (How I can sing) was featured in the hit compilation album SIN CENSURA VOL.1. But it was not until 2000, that he garnered International attention when the fame reggae producer Celia Torres offered him the opportunity to participate in the compilation album LAS PROPIAS 2000 with the song "Dejala" a duet with Duende . The song became an instant hit in Central and Latin America.

During the recording of "Dejala", producer Celia Torres requested that Flex sing a song celebrating Mother's Day in Panama. He surprised all the producers when he was able to record the acapella version of "La Balada de Flex" (The Ballad of Flex) perfectly in one take. "La Balada de Flex," a sensitive ballad dedicated to his late mother hit airwaves as Latin America was ramping up for Mother's Day. The song became an instant success and soon considered an urban hymn for all Latina mothers. It was also featured in the album DEATH MATCH in reggae version along with "Si tu me Amaras."

Following the song's success, Flex was regularly solicited for collaborations and mixtape appearances. Among the more notable was the 2003 disc TRIPLE X, which became a best-seller in Ecuador in the year of its release. The young artist made more than 40 concert appearances in 2003 thanks to his Ecuadorian fan base. As his popularity continued to flourish, so did the need for a solo album.

"p" Flex began preparing and writing the repertoire that would make up his solo debut in 2006. Years of hard work paid off in 2008 with the release of the album TE QUIERO, which landed a spot on Billboard's Top 200 and was placed at #5 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums category.
